Application Assistant 2

Welcome to the much anticipated launch of Application Assistant 2. Whether you are new to Application Assistant or upgrading from the previous version, our newest release has a great deal to offer. Features are detailed below, sample reports are available here . If you are considering upgrading from version one you will be interested in reviewing what’s new in this release .

Feature Summary

Application Assistant (AA2) generates Business Intelligence from your Clarion Application. Data elements can be queried, reported, exported and analyzed with sophisticated ease. Available elements include Procedures, Windows, Reports, Controls, DCT Table usage, and Template usage. Just as in DA2, properties of each of these elements are available in AA2’s underlying query and reporting system. The same installation of AA2 Supports Clarion version 4 and above.

Run queries to satisfy quality control questions like: “Do I have any missing help ids on my windows (or controls)?” or “What are the tooltips for window my controls?”. The list of possibilities is endless.

 

AA2's modern interface is designed for maximum usability. Thanks in part to the PowerOffice Toolbar and XP-Theme products, EA2 offers a very appealing front end.

 

 

 

AA2 is tightly integrated with DA2 when it comes to comparing Applications with their respective Dictionaries. AA2’s powerful Exception Assistant will compare settings from dictionary fields with those same fields where they are used in the application to produce a very sophisticated exception report. This allows developers to quickly see what should be synchronized with the Dictionary without blindly running the dictionary sync.

AA2’s integration with DA2 continues to impress with the Column Utilization report which provides a cross-reference between the Dictionary Columns and Application Controls.

 

 

AA is now docked  in the SysTray allowing quick access to one or more application databases.

 

  

New in AA2 is the online update feature. We will notify our customers when new updates are posted but you will also be able to check at any time from the main menu.

 

AA databases may be launched in one of several ways 1) command line paramete or 2) use the new Project Selection dialog.

 

  

Your clients or IT customers will now be happier than ever with the new level of reporting capabilities in AA2. Producing an unlimited number of sophisticated custom application reports is now easier than ever.

Save custom reports or built-in reports to a variety of formats including: PDF, XML, HTML and Text. Creating custom exports directly to Microsoft Excel no longer required third party ActiveX components as in AA1.
