In August 2007, Steve left a rewarding eight-year career at Time Matters/LexisNexis to pursue life “outside the box,” transforming Data Equity LLC into a full-time software solutions provider. Both as software engineer and CEO, Steve has been committed to delivering world-class business solutions for the legal industry.
In 1999, Steve was recruited to join Time Matters by the original founders of the company. Steve was brought on board to develop the first Enterprise Edition of Time Matters, which was released in the spring of 2000. This product launch remains one of the most successful in the history of Time Matters.
Beyond the TM Enterprise Edition, during his tenure, Steve served as a senior team member on several significant Time Matters development initiatives. They included Total Practice Advantage, the World Server/Browser Edition, and Billing Matters.
Soon after LexisNexis acquired Time Matters, Steve was promoted to Desktop Development Team Manager. Ultimately, he was promoted to Director of Software Engineering for the Time Matters business unit. In this capacity, Steve was responsible for the development of all Time Matters software products and platforms through the end of his tenure.
For more than a decade prior to joining Time Matters, Steve developed commercial software for a myriad of business applications. These applications included project management, project budgeting, project estimating, accounting and billing, Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) legal billing and accounting, case management, and docketing systems.
Steve's pioneer connection to Time Matters uniquely positions him to provide practice management and custom software solutions for Time Matters consultants and IT professionals.
Having graduated from North Carolina State University with a BS in Management Information Systems, John began work for Time Matters Software in August 2002, shortly after the launch of version 4. From the trenches of tech support, to QA and technical writing, John has served Time Matters customers and consultants on multiple levels.
Upon departing Time Matters/LexisNexis in July 2004, executing on the skills he cultivated there, John launched his career as a software engineer. Pursuing Microsoft technologies, he has developed fluency in multiple .NET languages in both web and Windows development arenas. With projects ranging from small, data-driven websites, to full enterprise level desktop applications, John’s skills provide a unique and synergistic addition to DataEquity.
