Interactive Services dialog detection

Interactive Services dialog detection

Postby JeffStouse on January 1st, 2009, 5:37 pm

I'm getting a message with the above-title dialog. I am running (unfortunately) WIndows VISTA, SP1. The gist of the message is:

A program can't display a message on your desktop.
Program(s) or device(s) requesting attention.

Message title: File Access Error
Program path: C:\program files\Data Equity\MobileTM\c60runx.dll
Received: Today, January 01, 2009, 10 minutes ago.

This problem happens because of partial incompatibility with Windows.
Please contact the program or device manufacturer(s) for mor information.

I'm running SQL Server 2005.

Any ideas what is causing this message. I'm receiving at various times (not upon startup, only.)

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff,

This is a Vista issue (aka feature) with not being able to display messages on the desktop.

The problem sounds like your SQL Server is for one reason or another not running. If the SQL Server is on the same computer as mobileTM, this can be an issue if the load sequence of SQL Server is slowed and not ready by the time the MobileTM service starts.

If both services are installed and running on the same computer, you can control the load sequence by forcing the MobileTM service to be dependent on the SQL Server Service.

Here are a few links to assist in resolving:

This link is the quickest and simplest to understand:

This is Microsofts Official article:

Hope this helps,

Steve,

I've tried adding a registry value that sets up the MObileTM service to depend on the SQL Server service--let's see if that takes care of it.

Thanks for the reply.
